Accepting Change

Hey beautiful souls, 2020 has been a hell of a year for us all. No matter who you are, you have been affected by COVID or quarantine in some form. Many of us have struggled through the year, just hoping to make it through; while others have found a way to thrive. No matter which side of the spectrum you find yourself, you should be proud (both are achievements). Last year was an eye-opening moment that being too comfortable can leave you stagnant or derailed and how vital learning how to adjust through unexpected situations is. 
 
Everything in life must change, it is the one thing we can be sure of. Everything goes through so much history from the time of its creation to its demise. For example, a house can have different owners/tenants over many years. Each person in this house during whatever time period will experience this house in a different way because it changes in appearance, sustainability, and family dynamics over time.
 
Just as this house we go through changes the same way. Through different stages of our life cycle we will appear different, our body will strengthen or weaken, and we switch groups of family and friends. What makes us different from a house though is that we have emotions and store memories. Our memories tie us to the past and make it difficult for us to emotionally move on.
 
Do not fear change, it is going to happen with or with you. It is normal to detach from people, places and things when your life is going in a different direction. If someone is not treating you right, change your circle. If your career path doesn’t align with your passion, change direction. The most we can do is plan for the life we desire and be flexible as life throws us challenges and opportunities. Become the change you want to see in yourself.
