Hi beautiful souls!! It has been so long, but I am back! We all have experienced this pandemic differently, but we each felt the changes it has had on our new norms. I would love to create a conversation on how we are dealing with life. We all have things we can improve on, so it is important we take time to reflect and execute, so we can create the best version of ourselves. Life is so fulfilling when you are at your best.
To create my best life, I am focusing on improving three things: having patience, being present, and prioritizing peace.
Having more patience will help when reacting quickly under pressure or dealing with passionate issues. I understand patience as an ability to avoid reacting premeditated or irrationally in challenging situations. I am practicing deep breathing to help with my patience. This has helped me slow down in a moment, reanalyze, and become more clear-headed.
Secondly, I want to be present, it is so easy to get caught up in our surroundings. Life is too short not to focus on what you have in front of you. Take time to enjoy the little moments. I incorporate this into my daily routine by putting my phone down and creating more engaging conversations with my friends and family.
I am prioritizing my peace; by removing ideals of perfectionism. It was difficult to fully understand how to accept all challenges and obstacles as just a normal part of life. However, once I did, there was no pressure to be picture perfect; then suddenly the anxious feelings dissolved. I continuously do this by getting curious and trying things I love while allowing myself to make mistakes.
My life has been full of so much joy since focusing on these parts of my life. I hope these can also be a tool for you in your path to the best version of you! Please share any areas you have been working on with how they helped you. I would love to hear it.
Hey beautiful souls, 2020 has been a hell of a year for us all. No matter who you are, you have been affected by COVID or quarantine in some form. Many of us have struggled through the year, just hoping to make it through; while others have found a way to thrive. No matter which side of the spectrum you find yourself, you should be proud (both are achievements). Last year was an eye-opening moment that being too comfortable can leave you stagnant or derailed and how vital learning how to adjust through unexpected situations is.
Everything in life must change, it is the one thing we can be sure of. Everything goes through so much history from the time of its creation to its demise. For example, a house can have different owners/tenants over many years. Each person in this house during whatever time period will experience this house in a different way because it changes in appearance, sustainability, and family dynamics over time.
Just as this house we go through changes the same way. Through different stages of our life cycle we will appear different, our body will strengthen or weaken, and we switch groups of family and friends. What makes us different from a house though is that we have emotions and store memories. Our memories tie us to the past and make it difficult for us to emotionally move on.
Do not fear change, it is going to happen with or with you. It is normal to detach from people, places and things when your life is going in a different direction. If someone is not treating you right, change your circle. If your career path doesn’t align with your passion, change direction. The most we can do is plan for the life we desire and be flexible as life throws us challenges and opportunities. Become the change you want to see in yourself.
Hello beautiful souls!! I hope you are each finding peace and happiness during this time. With that being said, take a moment to think about what makes you happy. We center the way we live our lives on what makes us happy. Now that you are thinking of what makes you happy- go deeper by asking yourself to explore why these things bring you happiness. Is the source of this happiness connected to a memory, person, or other influences?
Everything in our life is based on our perspective, even something so simple as happiness. As we go through life, our experiences create a frame of reference for the way we should live. Instinctively, when advising on a particular situation, we recall experiences from our personal life that lead us to conclude the proper way to guide someone. However, what is the right and wrong way to live? There is none, so advice should be taken loosely with a grain of salt.
Seek advice from someone who has your best intentions at heart. Some advice can be misleading or a form of control, be sure to analyze what each person can gain. People you idolize like a celebrity, employer, or influencer may seem like a good reference. However, you only see part of these individual’s worlds. Do not be fooled; they may be different in other aspects of their lives you cannot see. Most people trust their spouse, family, or friends for advice. Their intentions may be good but can be a form of control without even knowing; many times, it comes from love and experience. Such as a parent that thinks their son must be a football player (or daughter must be a nurse) to have the best chance at life, but that child was destined to be a singer. There is no right or wrong way to live. Happiness is defined differently for each individual.
Activities that bring you joy without external influences are qualities from your soul. Our identity is composed of qualities that are unique to each individual. It is important to make all decisions based on your true inner self, or you will have regrets. Stop being loyal to the image of yourself someone else created; become who you desire to be. No one knows what is best for your life but you. And yes, pleasures you gain from external influences in life are beautiful experiences during your journey, but the most beautiful experience comes from within. There is so much beauty in the unknown; take time to explore it!
Hey, beautiful souls!! So excited to be putting out my first blog :) I am so proud of myself that I decided to initiate this platform in the midst of all this chaos. With that being said, it is only right that I give a little insight on how to find peace amidst the chaos. I don't have it all together yet, but you gotta start somewhere, so bear with me as I work toward creating useful resources for you all.
This pandemic has definitely slowed down a lot of our usual activities. We are limited to the number of people we can come in contact with and invertedly the way we interact with people. Being more within our own dwellings has resulted in an extended period of inactivity which can lead to depression.
Many of us, at times, regret how entitled we felt towards simple pleasures and conveniences we had readily available and previously taken for granted. However, I use these thoughts as an awakening opportunity to discover and challenge myself to create new norms and fulfilling habits. I strongly encourage you all to try and do the same. There will be better days, so let's direct our focus on creating a better version of ourselves for when the world opens back up.
We have all encountered so many obstacles and have been presented with unique difficult emotions, during this unconventional time. I happened to find joy and peace in this chaos; by being grateful in the current moment I am in. It is time for us to reclaim our energy and make changes in the areas of our lives that we can control.
The only consistent thing we have at this time is ourselves. No one knows the best way to overcome this pandemic, but we can all overcome these tribulations and unload negative baggage we picked up along the way. We can all evolve during this hibernation. Be proud you made it this far and remember to be gentle with yourself!
